Founder Background

SHAANTI SHAMDASANI
President & Chief Economist – SAIAC – Asia Pacific, Middle East, Europe & America

Ms. Shamdasani is a seasoned c-level executive who worked for US Fortune 500 Multinationals for 18 years (Pfizer, J&J, USABC), & during the Indonesia ASEAN Chairmanship, she was the Advisor at the office of the President of Indonesia on ASEAN matters. She is a Harvard Graduate in Digital Transformation (online classes, during Covid time) and earned her economics degree from the University of UPH.

She was appointed as the Co-Chair of G20 on Global Health Security & Covid19 during the Indonesia Presidency and was elected as part of the Steering Committee of India G20.

She became an entrepreneur when she founded S (Strategic) ASEAN International Advocacy & Consultancy (SAIAC, a research, government affairs and think-tank firm established since 2010, with offices in 5 countries.) She was part of the RCEP negotiating team for 7 years, part of the I-EU CEPA, the ASEAN India, and the ASEAN China foreign trade agreement conceptor. She is a seasonal lecturer at the Cornell University and has been Advisor to Ministry of Trade of Thailand (2016), worked with Philippine government on South China Sea, worked on Myanmar-India friendship bridge trade diplomacy, and numerous other organizations serving as ThinkTank and expert advisor.

She is the upcoming Chief Economist for the Asia Pacific region and widely interviewed by TV stations & invited at international forums on trade, global supply chain, healthcare, agronomics, AI Banking, interoperability of geopolitics, & related economic topics

Her experience as policy advocacy and her analytical capacity in global trade, geopolitics and geoeconomics has secured her almost a dozen of Advisory role to the large Asian Corporation CEO’s as well as a reputation amongst the “Key Experts”

She currently is the Chair & Co-Chair of other trade and economic organizations such as Indonesian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KADIN) Chair of East Asia Business Council (EABC), Vice Chair at Indonesian Entrepreneur Association (KEIND), member at UN Woman in Trade.
